Guzheng

Introduction

Park View Primary School Guzheng Ensemble has been established since the school started in 1997. Guzheng, a traditional Chinese musical instrument, plays an important part in the Chinese culture. Playing the Guzheng helps to build patience as well as self-discipline and foster cooperation among the students. In addition, they also learn to appreciate and enjoy the musical pieces.
Beside participating in biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation, the ensemble performs during school events such as Chinese New Year concert and Mid-Autumn concert. In the recent years, the ensemble has also been invited to perform at the Pasir Ris West CNY dinner celebration.
