Introduction
Welcome to PVPS’s Chinese Language Department. We are a dedicated team to help our pupils in developing an interest in learning of their Mother Tongue Language.
At Park View, students are encouraged to use Chinese language through conversation, lively subject matter, and role play. In class, they have fun with Mandarin tongue twisters, practicing intonation and pronunciation while developing vocabulary in various contexts.
Other than preparing for the necessary examinations, Park View’s students learn Chinese Language by developing their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. They are encouraged to use the language effectively and imaginatively, appreciate the culture and literature, and build confidence in using the language through presentation, storytelling, singing and poetry recitation.
We aim at making every minute in learning the language fun and engaging. We work hand in hand with parents to ensure that the values and practices learnt by the students in school are re-enforced by parents at home.
USE OF ELECTRONIC OR PRINT DICTIONARIES FOR PR 3 to 6 MOTHER TONGUE COMPOSITION EXAM
Primary 3 to Primary 6 students are allowed to use either electronic or print dictionaries during the Mid-Year and End-of-Year Mother Tongue composition examinations. This is in alignment with the Ministry of Education’s initiative implemented since 2006.
As the Primary 3 students are new to this initiative, please be informed that only approved dictionaries are allowed during the examinations. Students must obtain the endorsement of the dictionaries by their Mother Tongue teachers before bringing them into the examination rooms. A list of the approved dictionaries is attached for your reference.
