RAKAN BAHASA

The Malay Language Council, Singapore [Majlis Bahasa Melayu Singapura (MBMS)] organises Bulan Bahasa (Malay Language Month) annually with the aim of encouraging the use and appreciation of the Malay language, foster a strong community spirit, build cultural identity, and instil community pride in the use of the Malay language in Singapore through various programmes and activities.

Park View Primary School has appointed two students, Mishel Qatrina Binte Mohamed Rizal from 5 Care and Amira Binte Muhammad Ridjal from 5 Integrity as the school’s Rakan Bahasa in 2024. The appointment ceremony was held on 19th April 2024. During this ceremony, they were presented with certificates of appointment.

Students nominated as Rakan Bahasa will be given opportunities to refine their presentation skills, build confidence and appreciate the Malay culture as a Malay language ambassador. A myriad of language activities also awaits this year’s Rakan Bahasa.
