Creative Dance
Creative Dance
The Dance CCA was one of the first CCAs to be set up when the school started.
We had different ethnic dance groups those days. Over some years, equality
and diversity took great importance in our merger to Creative Dance CCA.
Students are given the opportunity to discover and explore the various
dance forms and genres including Fusion and Contemporary Dance, developing
them to be versatile dancers. We have a team of dancers from various ethnic groups
and different nations. As such, this CCA provides them a platform to develop
cultural awareness.
Creative Dance teaches respect, resilience and discipline alongside other
school values which are regularly reinforced by our team of dedicated teachers
and instructors. It also prides itself on the strong friendships forged
and rapport between the dancers, teachers, and instructors.

Guzheng
Guzheng
Park View Primary School Guzheng Ensemble has been established since the
school started in 1997. Guzheng, a traditional Chinese musical instrument,
plays an important part in the Chinese culture. Playing the Guzheng helps
to build patience as well as self-discipline and foster cooperation among
the students. In addition, they also learn to appreciate and enjoy the
musical pieces.
Beside participating in biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation,
the ensemble performs during school events such as Chinese New Year concert
and Mid-Autumn concert. In the recent years, the ensemble has also been
invited to perform at the Pasir Ris West CNY dinner celebration.

Show Choir
Show Choir
Show Choir is a vibrant performing arts CCA that combines choral singing with expressive dance movements, occasionally within the context of a theme or story. The PVPS Choir, established in January 2011, began as a traditional choir ensemble. Over the years, it has evolved into a dynamic Show Choir, where students develop not only their vocal abilities but also their stage presence. Through structured training, members learn voice techniques, singing skills, dance movements, and stage etiquette, allowing them to grow into confident performers.
At PVPS Show Choir, students are nurtured into confident, resilient, and expressive individuals. Members are given opportunities to perform during special school events as well as external performances, allowing them to showcase their talents and gain valuable stage experience.
Students also enjoy performing a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from musical theatre pieces to popular favourites such as K-Pop songs. Through the integration of singing and dance, students develop coordination, rhythm, and fine motor skills while learning to work closely as a team.
The PVPS Show Choir aims to:
-
Develop students’ love and appreciation for the Arts
-
Build confidence in self-expression through singing, movement, and acting
-
Cultivate strong musicianship and showmanship
-
Instil values such as respect, responsibility, resilience, discipline, character and teamwork
Through dedication, practice, and shared performances, PVPS Show Choir members grow not only as performers, but also as collaborative and confident young individuals.
